This event was the start of the biggest institution in pro wrestling (Sports Entertainment). The WWF (now WWE) put itself on the international map by hosting an event of this magnitude from one of the most famous arenas in the world. Although the matches did not produce many title changes or mat classics, they did cement Wrestlemania as a yearly event.

- Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff won the tag team titles from Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo.

- Andre the Giant defeated Big John Studd in a “Body Slam Challenge”.

- Wendi Richter defeated Lelani Kai to capture the Women’s Title.

- Hulk Hogan & Mr.T defeated Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff in a tag match.
